Board of Zoning Appeals

The Town of Haymarket Board of Zoning Appeals was established pursuant to the provision of Article 7, Chapter 22, Title 15.2 of the Code of Virginia. The Board’s duties and powers are broadly illustrated in the State Code, and include hearing and deciding appeals of administrative decisions, hearing and deciding upon applications for special exceptions, variances, and interpretations of the Zoning Map, pursuant to the Zoning Ordinance.

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) meets as needed on the second Monday of any given month at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall, at 15000 Washington Street, Suite 100. (Click here to view its 2017 calendar.)

The BZA ordinarily consists of five members appointed by the Prince William County Circuit Court for staggered terms of five years. They must be residents of the Town of Haymarket, and may not be presently serving on another Board or Commission.

The Board of Zoning Appeals seeks two additional members to fill vacanct seats for for the duration of terms given below, beginning January 31, 2017. Applicants must be Town residents and may not be presently serving on another Board or Commission. Please click HERE to fill out an application for submission.
