Meet Joe Pasanello! 

Joe and his wife, Cathy are nine year residents of the Town of Haymarket, who have been together over 44 years.  They raised two daughters in rural Connecticut and are the proud grandparents of three super grandkids! 

Joe’s formal education includes:

  • Associate in Science, Western Connecticut State University (WCSU)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, WCSU
  • Master of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, WCSU
  • Management Department Award, 1998, WCSU

Joe’s CV includes:

  • Transportation executive (retired), with 42 years of experience in public and private enterprises, as well public benefit corporations and transit agencies
  • Member of the Rail Safety Advisory Committee (RSAC; retired) pursuant to Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee (Pub. L. 92-463) to provide advice and recommendations to the Federal Railroad Administration on railroad safety matters on behalf of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of NY and MTA Metro-North Railroad
  • Federally certified locomotive engineer and supervisor of engineers (retired)
  • Founder of Track Court Associates LLC, a Virginia based transportation consulting firm
  • Member of the Prince William County Board of Zoning Appeals
  • National Ambassador and volunteer for the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) headquartered in NYC, the largest non-profit (501c3) in the United States devoted exclusively to the mission to eradicate lymphoma by funding promising lymphoma research and improving care through education and support services (see www.lymphoma.org for more information)
  • Advocacy and outreach to Congressional Representatives and Senators, as well as state and local elected officials on behalf of LRF
  • Committee member and company sponsor for the Lymphoma Research Ride’s annual fundraiser in Montgomery County, Maryland
  • Recipient of MTA Metro-North Railroad’s President’s Award for “extraordinary dedication to duty and exemplary behavior in the advancement of the railroad’s services.”
  • Haymarket Town Council member 2014-2018 and Vice Mayor 2016-2018; Finance Committee Chair and Personnel Committee member
  • Volunteer and sponsor for Serve Our Willing Warriors, a Haymarket Va. based 501c3 focused on providing cost-free retreat stays and programs that positively impact wounded, injured or ill service members and disabled Vets
  • Past company sponsor of Flags for Our Heroes

Interests:

  • Volunteering to eradicate cancer, specifically blood cancers like lymphoma (the third most prevalent childhood cancer)

Reason(s) for Running:

After a two year hiatus from public office, Joe believed the town needed a change because he wasn’t satisfied with the management of the town’s resources and finances, the perceived lack of transparency in the conduct of the town’s business, and the deficiency in communication between the town and residents/businesses/stakeholders.
