VDOT Traffic Stoppages Planned
TRAFFIC STOPPAGES PLANNED DURING MID-DAY ON ROUTE 29 IN GAINESVILLE WED., DEC. 12, AND FRI., DEC. 14, FOR CONSTRUCTION AT FUTURE PARK AND RIDE LOT
Temporary stoppages of up to 15 minutes are planned to occur on northbound and southbound Route 29 between Heathcote Boulevard and University Boulevard in Gainesville on Wednesday, December 12, and Friday, December 14, between 11 a.m. and noon. Additionally, the ramp from westbound I-66 to northbound Route 29 (Exit 43B) will be temporarily closed for up to 15 minutes beginning at 11 a.m.
The stoppages are needed for blasting of storm water drain trenches at the site of the Gainesville Park and Ride Lot being built near the intersection of Route 29 and University Boulevard. Residents and drivers in the area may hear loud noises and should expect travel delays from the blasting operations.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
