Removal of Snow and Ice on Sidewalks in the Town of Haymarket

The residents of Haymarket have reached out over the years to the Administrative Staff and the Town Council sharing their concerns with the lack of snow removal on the Washington Street Corridor. Following the citizen complaints, the Town Council decided to draft an Ordinance to better address the removal of snow and ice throughout the Town of Haymarket as well as for the Town to take full responsibility for the Washington Streetscape (Rt 55) sidewalks and the other Town owned sidewalks along Jefferson Street (Rte 625, N of Rt 55). The draft Ordinance will be considered at the July 29, 2024 Public Hearing. The Public Hearing Notice is attached below along with the Draft Ordinance Language and map of proposed sidewalks to be maintained by the Town of Haymarket in regard to snow and ice removal.
