News from the Town - Thanksgiving Week

This Week in the Town of Haymarket

Town offices will close at Noon, 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 27, and all day on Thursday and Friday, November 28 and 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

NO TRASH PICK-UP on Thursday, November 28.  Residential customers of Republic Services with service scheduled on the actual Thanksgiving holiday, November 28,  will resume service the following week, all other days will will be picked up as scheduled. 

Business Small Container - Service scheduled on the holiday, November 28, will be collected one day later.  Scheduled customers for the rest of the week anticipate regular service day or one day later.  

Large Container (Industrial) - Service scheduled on the holiday will be collected one day later.  Scheduled customers for the remainder of the week will receive service as normally scheduled.  

Don't forget to decorate your In-town Business for the Deck the Door Contest. 

Tag the town #townofhaymarket, #haymarkettownhall with a photo of your decorated door before December 5th.  Winners will be announced December 7th at the Christmas and Holiday Celebration. Doors will be judged in the following categories; Most Traditional, Most Creative, and Most Festive.

Annual Gingerbread House Competition

Do you enjoy making Gingerbread houses during the holiday Season?  Show us your very best gingerbread house!  All are encouraged to participate.  Rules and Registration details can be found ; 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Competition.  Gingerbread houses are due by December 6th at 4:30 but may be turned in beginning December 2nd to Town Hall.

Re-release of the 2018 Town of Haymarket Collectible Ornament

Call Town Hall to preorder the 2018 Town of Haymarket Collectible Ornament.  The town has re-released a limited amount of the 2018 Town of Haymarket Christmas Ornament.  Ornaments will be available for pick up the week of second week of December.  Orders can be taken at 703-753-2600 or come in to 15000 Washington Street during business hours to preorder.
